Beth Kettel works with a range of media including costume, video, text, sculpture, print and performance. With an interest in language and meaning-making through all semiotic systems: linguistic, visual, aural, gestural and spatial. Kettel explores translations between the psychological & physical experience, including perception, communication and the mental health of humans, plants & animals with research spanning philosophy, psychology, ecology and personal experience. Recent exhibitions & commissions include The Sound of Somebody Changing Their Mind, Phoenix (solo); Baseline Drift, Art Night, London; A Bang, Art & Screen Network, ICA, London; A Mutual Influence, Green Man Festival, Wales; GIBCA, Sweden. Kettel was Writer-In-Residence at Nottingham Contemporary 2023 and UK Associate at Delfina Foundation 2022.
